Fall in the Rocky Mountains…it’s starting!
Monday: In case you didn’t read my last blog post, my dad surprised me on my birthday by coming out to Colorado for my birthday weekend. My husband flew him to/from Atlanta to Denver. At the age of 86, I thought he would never make that trip to visit me. The last time he was in Colorado was 1995. So….w drove to the mountains! We enjoyed a nice long drive that ended at Red Rocks. My dad really loved Red Rocks. He has spent a lot of time in Colorado, and he’d never seen Red Rocks. He was amazed! It really is one of the highlights in Denver.
A quick fashion shot – wearing a fringed sweater from Altar’d State in Georgia (purchased last year), Silver embroidered, distressed jeans and purple suede boots (old).
Lunch at a local diner and then home for a nap!
Tuesday: Wearing an olive pleated skirt from Target’s Who What Wear collection (purchased last year) and an olive sleeveless blouse from Target and nude pumps (old). Pearl and gold necklace is by Anne Klein, and it was borrowed from my sister.
Wednesday: It would’ve been my son’s 33 birthday. He died too early…at age 22. He was my only child and I miss him so much. He was such a good person and so much fun. He was very successful in his short 22 years – he graduated from high school early, finished college at Nascar Technical Institute, got a job as a mechanic at Hendrick Honda in Charlotte, NC and bought a house at age 20. He had 2 cars and 2 dogs. He was living his life as he dreamed it. I was and am so proud to be his mommy!
Sticking with olive again today. I wore an olive blouse with frayed hem, black ponte pants and olive distressed boots by Steve Madden. Nothing new here – another shopping my closet day. My necklace is from Murano, Italy – it’s one of the many glass jewelry pieces I bought on my trip there last April. The big heart was appropriate on this day (my son’s birthday).
Thursday: I’m wearing a yellow blouse from H&M, Hudson skinny jeans and tan Charles David block heels from DSW. The necklace is from Chico’s and the bracelet is vintage.
Friday: I went with my hubby on a business trip to Rehoboth Beach, Delaware. He travels for work and it is fun to join him whenever I can.
Saturday: We explored the Rehoboth Beach area, visited Dogfish Head Brewery and met up with some dear friends. I’m wearing an off-the-shoulder blouse from Loft, a distressed denim mini from H&M and white sneakers from Target. My necklace is from murano glass jewelry from Murano, Italy.
Saturday: Favorite pics of me and hubby!
Thank you for reading my blog and adventures. I welcome any comments and/or suggestions as I’m new to blogging.
