January 1, 2018. Rang in the new year wearing PJ’s all day! I did some house cleaning and organizing and some relaxing. It was a good day at home with the family and I feel ready to start back to work. Worked out on the elliptical for 30 minutes. Picked out my outfits for the week. Ready, set….go!
January 2, 2018. Back to work. It was a busy day and the day just flew by. Took this picture of the new moon on my way home.
January 3, 2018. Had my first acupuncture appointment today. It didn’t hurt at all.
January 4, 2018. Work and home. We watched Dave Chappelle stand up comedy on Netflix. When I mention what we watched on TV, it’s because we don’t turn the TV on except to watch what I mention. We don’t have any regular shows that we watch. NOTHING!
January 5, 2018. Same as yesterday. A good day! Different stand up comedians on Netflix.
January 6, 2018. Spent the day at home with the boys and thankfully they are both getting over their colds.
January 7, 2018. Another day at home with the boys. Did some cleaning and laundry. Worked out on the elliptical for 30 minutes. Picked out my outfits for the week.
January 8, 2018. Last day with the boys on this holiday break.
January 9, 2018. Did some house cleaning and talked to my hubby on the phone. He was in Atlanta taking his boys back and visiting customers.
January 10, 2018. Dray stopped by my Dad’s house to say hi while he was traveling to Atlanta. How sweet and spontaneous! For those following my blog…my Dad is completely healed from his fall (and stitches) a couple weeks ago.
January 11, 2018. I got a new blanket scarf in the mail from Lux Statements. I won a style challenge on Instagram and I got a lovely blanket scarf! Exciting! Not to be outdone…we got a new living room rug so we spent an hour or so moving furniture, cleaning and getting it just right.
January 12, 2018. Dray and I had a date night/staycation…at home. We enjoyed the hot tub, listened to music and slept in the basement guest bedroom.
January 13, 2018. Got my hair cut and colored! Whew! New lease on life! Went to a Wrangler sponsored event to support our friend and professional violinist/fiddler. We had a wonderful time catching up and enjoying some awesome music.
January 14, 2018. Spent the day around the house. Finally put away the Christmas tree. Read 3 chapters of Uninvited (yes, I joined a book club). Watched 4 episodes of The Crown on Netflix. Who am I?
January 15, 2018. Watched more of The Crown on Netflix. Totally a chill evening.
January 16, 2018. Wow! 4* F – cold morning! Busy day at work followed by a relaxing evening watching more of The Crown on Netflix. I’ve now finished Season 1.
January 17, 2018. Early morning bi-annual cleaning and exam at the Dentist. Grocery store shopping after work.
January 18, 2018. Played mahjong with neighborhood friends. I won 3 out of 4 games! Woohoo!
January 19, 2018. We had a party for our friends and neighbors Friday night. It was a lot of fun to see each other. Dray offered beer taste training and then several of us enjoyed some good music and dancing.
January 20, 2018. Nice day at home. I wore PJ’s all day. We watched the Houston Rockets and Golden State Warriors BB game.
January 21, 2018. We got at least 5 inches of snow. You know that means getting in some play time and a work out while shoveling. We didn’t leave the house – watched football play offs.
January 22, 2018. Good day at work and at home. Started packing for my upcoming trip to Atlanta.
January 23, 2018. Met up with a couple ex co-workers after work. Always fun to catch up! Also enjoyed a nice long dip in the hot tub with my hubby.
January 24, 2018. Completed an audit at work – went well! Finish up my packing and getting in bed early. Early wake up call tomorrow!
January 25, 2018. Up at 4:00 am for a 6:15 am flight to Atlanta. Hubby got up early too and drove me to the airport! I’m so happy to go visit my Dad. He is 87 now and he loves when his girls visit. He has 4 daughters. I’m number 3. We went straight to the grocery store as I plan to cook each meal while I’m here. Dad tends to eat out at least once a day since Mom died a year and half ago. Tonight I fixed spaghetti and meatballs. My sister, Sherry, drove up from Mississippi, arrived around 9:00 pm.
January 26, 2018. My sister Sherry and I drove to Jasper, GA to meet up with another sister, Valerie. We met at a local boutique there, Daisy’s Boutique. I took pictures in several outfits for her so she could advertise some new items. Then we went to 53 Market (my niece’s home decor store). The tops and shoes in the pictures above are all by Free People.

Driving around with my sister, Valerie.
Shutting down 53 Market with my two sisters, Sherry and Valerie.
January 27, 2018. Today is painting day at Dad’s. He wanted his doors painted, as well as top trim and floor trim in his living room. Only took about 7 hours! Pictured above…all caulked and painted. Definitely freshened up his living room. Next visit, more painting! After (and while) painting I made ham, 16 bean soup, cornbread, rice and cauliflower tots. My sister brought a big green salad and dessert. Yes, I’m multi-talented! 😉
January 28, 2018. Going to church with Dad. Here we are in his Sunday School class. After church we took a nap! Much needed for both of us! Then my sister, Karen and her girls arrived from Florida. I made roasted vegetables, sweet potatoes, left over ham and more cauliflower tots (everybody’s favorite).
Then we had a family photo shoot! Me, my sister Karen and her twin daughters. Such fun! I’m wearing a new floral dress from Zara.
Got Dad a couple new books to read. He is an avid reader and big fan of Louis L’Amour.
January 29, 2018 Flying back home to Denver. Always hard to say goodbye to Dad. I am preparing to sleep on the flight home.
January 30, 2018. Back to work – really behind on work emails, personal emails, and social media. Oh well….we have our priorities! Started the morning off with a 7:30 am routine mammogram. That wakes a girl up!
I got to see my favorite baby boy and his mommy today!
Dray and I went to the rec center after work and worked out.
January 31, 2018. Gave Dray a nice long massage.

What a wonderful month, Cindy!!
What are you trying the acupuncture for? I’ve used it many times throughout the years, and some things it’s helped tremendously, and some issues not so much!!!
I’m glad your dad is doing great now….you have such an amazing life that you can go visit him so often. And I love the family photos!!! Such love!!
XOXO

Thank you for your comments. I love going to see my Dad. He is such a sweetie.
I was really just giving acupuncture a try – no real issues. I wanted to discuss potentially using it for menopause (even though I’ve not there yet).

I am so glad you have joined this series. You are model gorgeous and have such a fabulous sense of style and yet you are down home and genuine. Thank you for being so real. I love all of the outfits you featured but that pair of pink sandals? and the plum pants and embroidered top are just so pretty. I bet your daddy ate up having you home, cooking for him, painting, joining him for church. I hate leaving my 90 year old mom every visit, too. But we just get busy and plan the next visit and that helps. Special times with your sisters. Glad you got some good pictures in!

I’m really enjoying the sentence a day blog! It helps me to live in the moment and remember the month! Dad loved my visit, I’ve already planned my next visit! And we’ve also planned more painting! Those pink sandals are adorable, I agree. You can call Daisy’s Boutique and see if they have your size – they’ll mail them to you. I put their phone number on my IG posts. They fit true to size. I so appreciate your comments and support. Thank you friend! xo Cindy
