Morning View

February 1, 2018.  It snowed this morning.  Gotta love that!  Tonight is our monthly Mahjong game night.  Fun with the neighborhood ladies.  I lost every game! 😦

February 2, 2018.  Woke up in the middle of the night with a fever and sick.  Stayed in bed all day.  Do I have the flu?

February 3, 2018.  Woke up feeling so much better.  My fever is gone.  Going to work to catch up on somethings that I would’ve done yesterday had I not missed work.

February 4, 2018.  Nice day at the house, hot tub, movies and I gave Dray a massage.  Also got in some house cleaning, laundry and I started packing for an upcoming trip!

February 5, 2018.  Monday morning rainbow.  Dray took this picture from our bedroom window.  Dray and I worked out and did some more packing.

February 6, 2018.  Got a pedicure during my lunch today.  That’s a first!  Time is gettin’ tight before our vacation!  Dray and I worked out again!  We do a mixture of free weights, machines and cardo.

Tic Tac Toe sky

February 7, 2018.  I had jury duty today!  I wasn’t selected.  Had a fun night with besties in the neighborhood, The Housewives of Vista Ridge.  Dray had a rental car today while his car was being serviced.  Fun to try out a new vehicle.  Here I am with the Lincoln Navigator.

February 8, 2018. Had my annual well-women’s appointment. Dray and I worked out again after work.  Finished packing!

Our flight out of Denver was delayed for a couple of hours due to weather. So we ended up missing our connecting flight to Trinidad.  So, it’s a night in Houston for us. We enjoyed a good BBQ dinner.

February 10, 2018. Relaxing morning. Afternoon flight to Trinidad, Port of Spain. Arrived 10:30 pm Atlantic time. Our friends were waiting on us and zipped us thru customs in minutes!  Normally takes hours!  Friends with connections!

February 11, 2018. Enjoyed a relaxing day.  I mostly enjoyed the constant tropical breeze and mid-80’s temps outside under the covered patio.  Our friends cooked some wonderful dishes and we ate to our heart’s content, steaks, lamb, ham, spinach rice, rote, lima beans, cheesecake, etc.  Oh my!

February 12, 2018.  Up at midnight to partake in J’ouvert.  We were basically a dancing parade from 1:00 am – 8:00 am.  We walked/danced for at least 6 miles.  We put cocoa oil all over our bodies!  Yes, it was utter abandonment and fun!  Got home, ate and went to sleep!  Pretty much slept and ate off/on throughout the day.  A day of Recovery.

February 13, 2018.  We were planning to go the Grand Mas parade, but heard there were terrorist threats so we decided to stay home.  We drove around the island and saw a lovely beach.  It was fun exploring.  I did work remotely for a couple of hours processing  our company payroll.

February 14, 2018.  We ran errands with our friend in Trinidad.  We went to a place that was similar to Costco, and another grocery store.  We ate lunch and enjoyed driving around Port of Spain. We spent our last afternoon relaxing around the pool/patio at their house.  Definitely going to miss the warm weather, tropical breeze and our friends.

February 15, 2018.  Our flight left Trinidad at 1:00 am.  Well, after some delays at the gate, we really left around 3:00 am.  It is so hard to sleep on a plane.  UGH! We missed our connecting flight in Houston (again!).  So we got another flight to Denver about an hour after getting through customs.  We were in our home by noon.  We took a short nap, worked out and then went to dinner at Rocky Mountain Ramen for some yummy comfort food.

February 16, 2018.  No work today.  We stayed home, rested up and unpacked.  Dray hung pendant lights in our kitchen.  So happy with them!

February 17, 2018.  I ran errands and worked out at our local community center.  Went to my neighbor/friend’s 40th birthday party, yes….the Housewives of Vista Ridge got together again…here we are!  Such fun beautiful friends!

February 18, 2018.  Nice day at home with the boys.  There was a putting contest going on for a while.  Then Jordan and Dray went to see Black Panther.  They LOVED it!  We had a high of 66 degrees today – but very windy.

February 19, 2018.  Forever Fierce Day!  I was excited to participate in this campaign highlighting fierce women in midlife – I was able to introduce all 3 of my sisters on my blog.   I was also happy to have another day at home!  President’s Day!  I’ve not been in my office in 11 days!  Hope I remember my passwords!

Today it is very cold and snowing all day!  Crazy how our temps change so quickly.  I got out an shoveled the driveway mid day – even though it’s supposed to snow all night.  A smaller amount is easier to shovel!

February 20, 2018.  Back to work after a nice long break!  But first, I must shovel the driveway – we got about 4 more inches of snow overnight.  Morning exercise!

February 21, 2018.  Had a follow-up Sonogram after something looked suspicious from the Mammogram last month.  I got the all clear – no issues!

February 22, 2018.  Today is my step-son Marshall’s 20th birthday.  We celebrated at Rocky Mountain Ramen for dinner.  Probably not his choice.  But he got his beloved french fries for lunch!  I love this picture of him (from last summer).  Yes, his tee is dirty, but THAT SMILE!!  He has cerebral palsy and is absolutely a love.

February 23, 2018. The boys are headed back to Georgia.  The house always feels so empty when they leave.  I joined a couple of friends to vist another friend recovering from surgery after work.

February 24, 2018.  Felt no energy today, so I watched too much HGTV while laying on the sofa, cuddled up in a blanket, with the fireplace on – just doing what I can for the environment.  Click the link to read the article to help you understand that last sentence.

February 25, 2018.  I made chili for my friend recovering from surgery.  I made chicken soup for my lunch this week.  Felt much more energetic today.  Finished cleaning the house and all the laundry.  Picked out outfits for the week.

February 26, 2018. Work and then home.  So thankful for both!

February 27, 2018.  Check our Mr. Coyote right behind our backyard fence.

Had my annual Dermatologist check today.  All good!  After so many years basking in the sun – I don’t take any chances.  I get myself checked.  Yes, basking in the sun is NOT happening ANYMORE!  Started packing for a long weekend trip.

February 28, 2018. Miquel concert tonight!  He is a good performer, strong voice, great dancing and constantly smiling!

Thank you for reading my February “sentence a day blog”.  I’d love to hear your comments.  As always I’m up for suggestions too!

  1. I loved this blog! I already know so much of your life that you share with me throughout the month but I had not seen the new kitchen lights! They look great! It was also a very good picture of Marshall. I am sorry you experienced some illness. I pray you have a happy and healthy March my dear, sweet, beautiful sister!! Love you!

  3. What a full month. Snow-sun-snow! I have given up on seeing any of the white stuff this winter so I vote we move straight into spring.

It’s getting difficult to get anywhere by air without a delay. Glad you finally made it to Trinidad and then home again. What a glorious time of fun and celebration you enjoyed.

Your step-sons are both adorable. So glad they get to spend time with you guys on a regular basis.

    Here’s to a wonderful March!
