5/1/18  Holy hail storm!  This pic was taken at work.

Missing one of the Housewives of Vista Ridge at our get together. We had so much fun…eating, drinking, laughing and catching up.

Hubby arrived home from work trip – I’ve missed him!

5/4/18  I ran 4 miles after work.  This is me relaxing on the back deck watching Dray hit golf balls – after my run.  And our beautiful sunset Friday night.

5/5/18  I attended Barre class and then came home and took a nap.  I tended to the weeds in the yard.  Dray and I laid in the hammocks on our deck for a few hours that afternoon and then went to Boulder for dinner and dancing.

5/6/18  I ran 4.3 miles today – continuing to push myself.  Getting in shape is tough! Dray cooked a wonderful meal – blackeyed peas, brown rice and pork chops.  We swapped the mattress from the basement bedroom to our bedroom on the second floor.  You could call that a work out!

5/7/18  Went to Body Pump class after work.  Then Dray and I sat on the back deck and watched the sunset.  Our crab apple tree is so beautiful!

5/10/18   You can still see the snow at the ski resort.  Picture taken from my car on my drive to work.  Me…what?…a distracted driver?

Went with 2 girl friends to see Melissa McCarthy’s new movie, “Life of the Party”.  The movie theater had problems uploading it so it was not available.  We saw “I Feel Pretty” instead with Amy Schumer.  It was good – we laughed and enjoyed it!

5/11/18  Actually quite chilly today and overcast.  I mowed the front and back yard after work.  This is real life….

5/12/18  Attended Body Pump class first thing!  Went to our friend’s memorial service.  I left my lights on and my Jeep battery died.  Took Uber home and cleaned house and did laundry the rest of the day. No choice…no car. 😦

5/13/18   Took a 4.5 mile walk around the neighborhood.  Didn’t feel like running.  I did stop to smell the flowers (or trees) in bloom.  I’m feeling a little down from the funeral, Mother’s Day and my Jeep not being with me.  I’m very attached to the Jeep, as it was my son’s vehicle when he died.  It has his shoes in it…just as they were in 2006, his chapstick, his change, etc.   It was my Jeep for 4 years and I gave it to him when he graduated from college.  He loved it as much as I do.  It’s a piece of him that I treasure, plus I drive it everyday.

Enjoyed a nice Mother’s Day Brunch at a friends home.  Yes, the Housewives of Vista Ridge got together! Well 4 out of 5 of the housewives made it!  Always a good time!

Dray got home this evening and we got the Jeep up and running again!  YAY!  So glad to have my hubby home too!  He travels for work.

5/14/18  Went to Body Pump class after work. Then watched the Golden State and Houston basketball game.

5/15/18  I got a pedicure at lunch today!  Went to Barre class after work.  Helped Dray in the yard a little before it got dark.

5/16/18  Went to Body Pump after work.  Packed for our Florida vacation.

5/17/18  Dray and I flew to Ft. Lauderdale, FL for him to attend a work event and for me to tag along.  We extended his work trip for a little R&R.  Upon arrival, we took a walk on the beach.   We enjoyed the hot tub and warm weather that night.

5/18/18   After breakfast I ran 3 miles.  I then walked a mile to meet Dray and his old college/frat friend at a restaurant.  We met up with several of Dray’s college/frat friends in Ft. Lauderdale that night for a 50th birthday celebration of one of the guys.

5/19/18  I woke up early to watch the royal wedding.  We attended Copperpoint Brewery’s 3 year anniversary party in Boynton Beach, FL.  It rained most of the day but it didn’t dampen our spirits.

5/21/18  Flew back home.  So nice to be home in our low humidity climate! I went for a 4.5 mile walk/run.  Then I attended Body Pump class.  We watched Cleveland/Boston basketball game.

5/22/18   Back to work.  Attended Barre class after work.  Watched Houston/Golden State basketball game.

5/26/18  Went to Body Pump class first thing.  I went shopping a little and then home for some cleaning and relaxing.  We see hot air balloons most mornings in the summer.  I never tire of seeing them.  Some land pretty close too!

5/27/18  Ran 4.5 miles – during which I stopped to say hi to the neighborhood horses. Then I bought out Costco and King Soopers – preparing for Dray’s boys arrival later today.  Well…maybe they have a few items still left. 🙂   They boys will be with us for the summer.

5/28/18  Me, Dray and his 2 boys walk/ran/rode the Bolder Boulder 10k.  We had great weather (a little cool) and had a blast.  They have the best Memorial Day celebration after the run.  It is our 5th year to run this race. Later that night we watched Golden State and Houston basketball game.

5/29/18  Played Mahjong with the neighborhood ladies after work.

5/30/18  After work, Dray and Jordan went to Colorado Rockies MLB game.  I took care of Marshall and cleaned up around the house.  Marshall has cerebral palsy and is severely handicapped.  He is 20 years old – but we call him the baby.  He will always be the baby.  🙂   The picture above is of the rain coming our way.  We love the mountains and the big sky.  Still snow on the mountains!

5/31/18 Went to Body Pump after work.  Then we watched the Golden State/Cleveland basket ball game.  Dray made a wonderful dinner for us.

  1. Gosh, I have to admit, you make me feel like a slug. And I was happy we were going to a stretching class once a week…HA!!!
But you’re my inspiration—I’m going to get off my bum and move it a little more! Maybe we will go for a walk tonight??
I’m so glad you got your jeep going again….
    Love ya tons!!

  2. Sweet friend, I didn’t know you had lost a child. I am so sorry. I imagine that Jeep is very dear to you and that your heart hurts a little when it is out of commission. Glad you guys got up and running quickly. And that it was only a battery.

You have the most spectacular views. No wonder you can lounge for a few hours in your hammocks! I would never tire of watching the world from you lovely vantage point. Love the photo of the runner, the mountains and the air balloon.

I took two barre classes and they whooped my butt. I have two more paid for but not sure I will go back. It was exhilarating to take the classes but I struggled. Maybe with time I would become more competent but they are quite expensive, too. And I am ‘poor’. 😛

Appreciate the love you give to your step-sons. They sure aren’t going to go hungry this summer!!

  3. We joined our local community center and all the classes are free with the annual membership. I’m definitely getting my money’s worth so far! Now I’m just waiting to see some results from all this hard work!! 😉 Thank you for the kind words about my son. Living in Colorado is such a blessing – we are loving it every day! I’m glad to hear you like it too.
