12/1:  Woke up to a light dusting of snow.  Check out the picture, taken from the kitchen window into our back yard – you can see a coyote hunting.  Body Pump class first thing in the morning.  I decorated for Christmas for hours that afternoon – inside and a little outside.

12/2: I made homemade chicken noodle soup.  Dray got home after being gone for 9 days.

12/3:  Went to Body Pump class after work. Then it started snowing. Dray and I drove around the neighborhood looking at Christmas lights/decor.  This house looked so pretty (below), but really there were so many.  There is a competition in our neighborhood and some people went all out!

12/4:  After work Dray made soup with the frozen turkey leftovers from Thanksgiving and then we laid around and watched the news until bedtime.

12/5:  Beautiful sunrise this morning.  Body pump after work.

12/6:  Work and then home for soup!

12/7:  Woke up to the murderous scene of a rabbit remains. 😦  That night the murder showed up – Mr. Owl.

12/8:  Body pump class first thing.  Hot tub in the afternoon and relaxing around the house the rest of the day.  Didn’t accomplish much after exercise class.

12/9:  Went to a neighborhood cookie exchange.  The above pic was only some of the cookies!  There were several tables of cookies! OMG!  Get your fat pants ready! 🙂  There were lots of people attending, but this is a pick of me and my neighbors!  Then it was home to enjoy more hot tub time with my hubby.  We love being outside to watch the coyotes hunting and the sun setting over the rocky mountains.

12/10: Body pump class after work.

12/11:  After work I gave Dray a nice long fully body massage.

12/12:  Body pump class after work.

12/13:  After work we went to a neighbor/friends house for dinner, where our previous neighbors (and good friends) were visiting from San Diego.  A fun reunion!  The golf course had fireworks that night as part of their holiday celebration.  Our friends house has the best view!

12/14:  Christmas Party at work, then a manicure and pedicure.  Packing for a surprise trip tomorrow.  I have no idea where Dray and I are going.  He has kept the destination a surprise only telling me to pack for a high of 60 degrees.

12/15:  We were at the airport to enjoy a beautiful sunrise.  After walking up and down C gate at the Denver airport, Dray finally revealed that we are going to San Jose, to drive to Monterey for the weekend.  YAY!  Such a gorgeous view of the Rocky Mountains.

Upon arrival in San Jose, we got our rental car and drove a little over an hour to Monterey.  We checked into our hotel/dropped off our luggage and walked the Old Fisherman’s Wharf, enjoyed a seafood lunch.  Then we walked to Canery Row and took in the sights and sounds.

We ended up walking for hours.  We loved watching the otters in the water, as well as the sea lions.  This otter was so cute hold a rock in is arms.  We ordered room service (more seafood) for dinner.

12/16:  We put a little of our left over fried cod out for the seagulls…I know….a big no no!  But it was fun seeing him up close!  We enjoyed a big breakfast at the hotel and then we were off to explore Pebble Beach and Carmel-by-the-Sea.

We loved the coastal views from 17 Mile Drive. It was the perfect weather to enjoy exploring.  We also loved Carmel-by-the-Sea.  We ate lunch at Friar Tucks, the owners were so charming!  Dray got a massage and I shopped for a couple hours.  We definitely hope to come back to Carmel.  We loved watching the really big waves in the late afternoon.  Seriously one of the prettiest places to see!

We got back to our hotel and watched a Kristen Wig movie and relaxed.

12/17:  Up early for another wonderful buffet breakfast at the hotel and then we drove to the airport for a 1:00 pm flight home.  Upon arrival in Denver, we went to Dray’s co-workers send off party. She is transferring with Ball Corporation to London to work.  Hope we get to visit her while she is there.

12/18:  Back to work. Dray and I enjoyed the hot tub after dinner.  We looked for shooting stars. He saw two!

12/19:  Body pump class after work.

12/20:  After work, we went to the Gaylord Rockies hotel that just opened to see the Christmas lights.

12/21:  Gorgeous sunrise on this first day of winter – it’s also the last day of work for a few days!

12/22:  Went with friends to the Christian Dior Exhibit at the Denver Art Museum.  It was really interesting to hear the background on particular dresses and learn about the process of their creations.

After the Dior Exhibit, we went to Union Station in Denver.

12/23: Dray flew to Atlanta to pick up his boys.  I wrapped presents and got ready for Christmas.  They arrived in Denver around 10:00 pm.

12/24:  Dray and I went to Costco and the grocery store for last minute food shopping.  Dray got the oil changed and new tires for his car.  The boys went to see a movie.  Dray and I relaxed with Marshall that evening and listened to Christmas carols.

12/25:  Christmas.  We enjoyed watching the boys open gifts and then we made a big breakfast.  It was a sunny day, so we got outside for an hour or so, riding bikes, etc.  We drove around and look at Christmas lights that night after a nice dinner.

12/26:  My dad turns 88 today!  Dray and I went to the gym.  I went to body pump class.

12/27:  Back to work for a couple days.  We had a couple over for dinner.  It was nice to reconnect and catch up.  Dray gave me a massage – my back has been hurting for a few days.  It really helped!

12/28: I worked a half day.  We watched Netflix’ Bird Box movie (just like 43 million others).  It was okay, not scary or believable.

12/29:  Body pump class first thing in the morning. We had friends from Florida stop by for the afternoon.  It was so good to see them.

12/30: We explored Boulder Creek with the boys.  It was beautiful. Dray made vegetable soup for dinner.  So good.

12/31:  I cleaned house and watched Marshall all day.  Started getting sick around mid-day.  By night I was not feeling well at all.  This was the first NYE that I didn’t usher in the new year.  I was in bed by 7:30 pm, feeling feverish, body aches and a heavy chest. Hope I don’t have bronchitis.  On a positive note…it started snowing!

Well, be sure to check in next month to see how things are in my world.  I appreciate you reading my blog and following all  along with my sentence a day each month.

Any comments and/or suggestions are appreciate.  xo Cindy

  1. Wow…that’s crazy with the owl!! I can’t believe you even saw him there the next night….how cool!!
You are SO good about body pump class…no wonder you’re in such good shape.
And what a fun idea to be surprised about vacation like that. Dray is full of great ideas!!
How did you like the Gaylord place? That’s the one by the airport right?? We’re going to have to check that out although I heard it’s booked??

    • I know sighting the owl was amazing. Second time since we’ve lived there. We hear him often and see remnants from his dinner often enough! I love body pump. It’s the hardest class, but I’m really seeing some muscles coming…finally! Dray is such a good hubby. 😉 The Gaylord looked like a wonderful place to go – huge lobby with restaurants and water features to enjoy (and take photos). Maybe just go and spend a few hours – rather than the night!

  2. Your soups sound so good and I love hearing of your adventures! I hope you are feeling better.
Love you! ❤️🥳 Happy New Year! 🥳
