Sentence a Day – October, 2018

Well…on the first Thursday of the month, I join other bloggers with a recap of the previous month with a sentence (or two) every day!  I think I missed the date to share this blog with everybody!  So I’m sending it out late (again).  I started this month while on vacation – driving a portion of the PCH with my sister.  I hope you enjoy the “sentence a day” blog for October.   It’s a great way to get to know me…by getting an insight into my every day.  Read along to see how October was for me!

10/1:   On a PCH road trip with my sister that started on 9/27/18. Today we explored Pebble Beach, even walked a few holes on the golf course.  Had lunch at The Bench at The Lodge at hole #18. We road horses on the beach. We had dinner at Aliotti’s Italian restaurant in Pacific Grove, CA.

10/2:  Drive from Santa Cruz to San Francisco.  Had lunch at the Half Moon Bay Brewing Company.  Checked into our hotel and then walked to Pier 39 on Fisherman’s Wharf to see the sea lions and then to Ghirardelli Square for ice cream.  We road the trolley from start to finish and then had a late dinner at In & Out Burger.

10/3:  Rented a GoCar for the entire day and it took us all around San Francisco via GPS and told us all about the sites and history.  It was a really fun way to see the city.  We also got a personal tour of Anchor Brewing Company from a friend of mine.

10/4:  Drove to Napa and explored about 10 wineries and even 1 brewery.  Met Brenda Kinsel in Sonoma for dinner.  We had a blast getting to know each other!  Got into town late but still drove to see the Painted Ladies and up/down some hills (no traffic) before getting to the hotel.

10/5:  Flight home.  Yes, this is a women with a cat on her back in the bathroom at the Denver Airport.  I was so glad to see my hubby!  We got pizza for dinner.

10/6: Nice day at home with hubby.  Watched Florida Gators football.

10/7: Decorated the house for Fall/Halloween.

10/8: Busy day at work after vacation.

10/9:  Real Housewives of Vista Ridge enjoyed a Skype call.  Two of our friends have  moved out of state, to California and Hawaii.  😦   We are starting to Skype every couple of weeks to keep up with each other.

10/10:  Closet renovation begins! YAY!  I worked from home.

10/11:  I worked from home again while closet is being renovated.

10/12: Worked from home again and then Dray and I flew to Washington DC to visit friends.  Loving the fall leaves in the neighborhood.

10/13: Fun day with friends.  We ate lots of good Indian food, played Indian board games, went to Top Golf and played billiards at the hotel.

10/14:  Ate more delicious home cooked Indian meals, went to an Indian Festival, and played billiards again at our hotel.  We also watched the movie, 22 July, about Norway’s deadliest terrorist attack.

10/15:  We had a 5:20 am flight back to Denver.  We were greeted by our first snow accumulation! We went straight to work upon arriving.

10/16:  One day later and almost all of the snow is gone.  Colorado has a lot of sun! I saw A Star is Born movie after work with my friend, Cathy.

10/17: After work, I painted the bedroom closet that I’m getting renovated.

10/18: Busy day at work.

10/19: I worked from home while the contractors finished up the closet renovation. I finished painting the closet and the loft area.

10/20: The 12th anniversary of Brian’s death. I didn’t have much motivation today. I am consumed with the thoughts of his last day and what he went through. I do this every year – I can’t help it. Leading up to his anniversary I seem to be preoccupied with the thoughts of death – Brian’s death, my mom’s death, anybody in the news, even me dying, etc.

10/21:  I started moving my clothes into the new closet! So exciting!

10/22: I went to body pump after work.  I’ve missed so many classes and boy it was tough!

10/23:  I ran a mile after work – I haven’t ran in a year!  I tried to go a little harder than my casual jog and it was tough! And it was only a mile!

10/24: Went to Body Pump class after work.

10/25:  The last two shelves were delivered and installed in my renovated closet.  It’s now completely done! I’m so excited!  Be sure to read my blog on my closet renovation!

10/26:  We went to a house party with Dray’s golf group.  They are celebrating their end of year tournament this weekend.

10/27: Body pump in the morning.  Housework and hanging out at the house.  Dray and I were going to go to the Boulder Mall Crawl to celebrate Halloween, but we ending up falling asleep. 🙂

10/28:  I worked around the house, then got out to go to Sephora, H&M and the grocery store.

10/29: Halloween dress up day at work – my team were Barbie & Ken dolls.  We really got creative this year!  The Real Housewives of Vista Ridge skyped again after work.  We enjoy a glass of wine, some laughs, and a tour of Kelly’s new home and my renovated closet.

10/30: I played mahjong with 3 friends/neighbors. I won 2 of the 3 games!  YAY!  Below is my friend/neighbor’s dog all ready for Halloween!  When I walked home it was snowing!

10/31: We only got a dusting of snow.  Trick or Treat in the neighborhood. I’m also packing for a trip to Georgia tomorrow to see my Dad and sisters.

Hope your month was full of adventure, family and fun!  I appreciate any comments and/or suggestions.  I hope you enjoy my October diary!

xo, Cindy

  1. I can totally understand having those thoughts during this month Cindy. You’d wouldn’t be human if you didn’t. But at least you had a lot of excitement too…your closet is to die for!! Let’s just say I have closet envy…LOL!!

  2. What a busy life! You do have a “roller coaster” life. Up and down. California to NY and back to Colorado! Sunshine and snow! Laughs and tears. Such a versatile wardrobe to go with your versatile life! I love your blog! 👍💞😘

  3. I am so terribly behind on my blog reading and writing. Just now getting around to reading everyone’s SaD posts. First, I love your creative Halloween costume. You and your team are just so fun and cute. I hope if there was a prize for best costumes, you guys won big!

Can’t believe you have already had some snow accumulation. We had our coolest/coldest night last night. There is no heat where I am working part-time posting clothes to Ebay so it was nippy today. And supposed to be colder tomorrow.

Glad the Real Housewives of Vista Ridge are maintaining their friendships via Skype. My sister and I Skype and scrapbook together. Technology is amazing. I never thought I would live to see the day when I would do video calls.
